Monitor Lizard is devoured by a King Cobra.

The King Cobra isn’t merely a snake eater, despite its common moniker. While snakes are its primary prey, it will also catch and consume lizards. When Gopal Bansal and Ajay Giri came upon a gigantic king cobra, a monitor lizard, that’s exactly what occurred.

The Hindu: “Watching and documenting a king cobra catching and devouring a monitor lizard was a dream come true for us; it was the first such occurrence in our 50-year career,” Rajesh, who took all of the photos except one, which was taken by his son Yogesh, told The Hindu.

When Rajesh and his older brother Naresh arrived at the Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand, they were met by a torrential downpour. “We saw the first monsoon rainfall on the first day.” The next day, it rained fiercely once more.
