The London Zoo has recently disclosed the names of the three Sumatran tiger cubs. The cubs, born on August 2, 2020, have been named after Indonesian islands. The male cub has been named “Jago,” which means “strong” in Indonesian, while the two female cubs have been named “Kamala” and “Kaveka,” which mean “lotus flower” and “poetry” respectively. The Sumatran tiger is a critically endangered species, with only around 400 individuals remaining in the wild. The London Zoo is proud to be contributing to the conservation of this magnificent species through its breeding program.
