There’s no denying that certain creatures are more courageous than we may think. That was demonstrated by a mother cat in Brooklyn who practically walked through fire to save her five babies.
Scarlett, the mother, was seen bringing her babies out of a bu.rn.ing garage one by one by Brooklyn firemen.
She was gravely in.ju.red and each journey cost her more money. She su.ff.ered bu.rns on her body and had lost some of her fur. Her paws and ears were blackened, her eyes were closed, and she was on the verge of pa.ss.ing out.
Scarlett, on the other hand, hung in there until all of her kittens were safe. She checked each one with her nose to make sure they were there before passing out.
I recall the Scarlett incident, which is correct. She was acclaimed as a hero all around the world, and photos of her with the kittens were all over the place. This was before social media and the numerous instances of animal heroism that we hear about today. She was a true heroine.
