Ilovemydogsomuch writes about a puppy named Yukon who was walking the streets on his own.
He was mistaken for a coyote by some. It would be an understatement to say he was in bad shape. His fur had mostly fallen out due to mange, and he was skin and bones. Knowing he was nearing the end of his life, he was fully shut down.
Yukon bowed his head, as though embarrassed. He wasn’t used to having an impact on others. That lack of affection and care hit him like a ton of bricks. Thankfully, Caitie, a nice woman, took him in. At first, he did nothing but sleep. He was simply fatigued after spending so much time on the freezing streets.
Caitie’s heart warmed up when Yukon took his first bite of burger. He’d been starving to d.ea.th, but now everything was about to change… for the better! Despite having spent so much time on the streets, Yukon was as lovely as can be. He let Caitie pet and cradle him. It was his way of expressing, “Thank you for allowing me to stay with you.”
Yukon’s reaction when he receives his first toy is incredible. Of course, he had no idea what to do with it at first. His tail wags, on the other hand, express it all. Yukon felt content enough to snuggle up to Caitie after a few days of affection and food, as Caitie says in the video below (while wearing his adorable pajamas to keep his bare skin w.ar.m).
Caitie introduced Yukon to her other dogs once he had the stamina to go outside and explore. She wasn’t sure how he’d act now that he’d been alone for so long, but he was loving every minute of it. And his new canine companions were really nice with him. It’s as if they realized he’d gone through a lot and could use a pack that looked out for him!
Yukon’s mange began to recover with treatment and patience. His fur started to fill in as well. Yukon appeared to be in good health! He never forgot to reward Caitie with extra mushy snuggles during his makeover.
Yukon will be ready for his future home in no time. We are overjoyed that this life was saved. Let’s give a big shout out to his foster mother and Yukon. In the video below, you may observe his change for yourself. He’s the cutest puppy now (and he’s aware of it!). YAY!
