Many years ago I had a red Tom cat that fought regularly. He would come home bl.o.ody and stay home long enough to heal and would be back at it again. By the time he got too old to fight anymore, his head was a hardened mass of scar tissue.
I find cat fights fascinating, they are so different from dogs as they will face one another and w.ar.n each other for a decent amount of time to avoid a actual fight but if it goes to that they fight so fast and vic.io.usly.
They seem very ritualistic when they fight. Like they’re both observing rules. Often they look away into distance and don’t get attacked in this moment of weakness but the opponent waits until they make eye contact once more. I love these creatures.
