Buffalos put male lion on a tree

A male lion that was laying down with his pride was chased off by a buffalo herd, the male lion decided to stay and fight but eventually had to take refuge on a tree.

Do you guys and girls see what I see, a common behavior among lions and buffaloes that lions understand and take advantage of but buffaloes fail to recognize. When the lion jumped out the tree it position itself to chase the buffaloes to see if they would run but when it realized the buffaloes stood their ground and continued to pursue it, it turned away, and then shortly afterwards it tried again to chase the buffaloes and the buffaloes ran away. Lions understand this behavior, and that makes them very successful at hunting buffaloes because by doing so they cause buffaloes to scatter isolating their herd members and making them vulnerable to lion attacks. Buffaloes on the other hand do not have the mental capacity to recognize that by standing their ground in a herd against a lion charging at them will ultimately cause the lion to turn around and back off, and as you see here, even if it’s one lion charging at them, they will run away, not understanding that they have a better chance at survival against a lion by sticking together. Fascinating to witness this behavior among lions and buffaloes.
