The Victoria crowned pigeon, scientifically known as Goura victoria, is a large species of pigeon native to New Guinea. It is named after Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom and is considered one of the largest and most striking species of pigeon in the world.
The Victoria crowned pigeon has a unique appearance with a bluish-gray plumage, a fan-shaped crest on its head, and beautiful maroon-colored eyes. It has a body length of about 70-74 centimeters (28-29 inches) and weighs around 2.5 kilograms (5.5 pounds), making it one of the heaviest species of pigeon.
