8 Thinnest People in the World and You Won’t Believe They Exist

If you think the world’s thinnest people are just a figment of your imagination, think again! From the Philippines to India, there is an array of people who are seemingly defying the laws of gravity. These people are living in some of the world’s most impoverished and malnourished countries, yet they still have some of the lowest body weights on the planet. The current record holder for the world’s thinnest person is Jyoti Amge from India, who weighs just 12 pounds and is 23.6 inches tall. Amge has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia, which severely restricts her growth. However, she has managed to maintain her extremely low weight despite her condition.

The second thinnest person is Angeline Fernando from the Philippines. At just 15.8 pounds, she is the lightest person in her country. Fernando has a genetic disorder called primordial dwarfism, which is characterized by stunted growth and an extreme lack of weight. Other contenders for the title of world’s thinnest person include Marcela Dutta and Sunit Khatri from India. Dutta weighs just 17.6 pounds and Khatri weighs 18.1 pounds. Both have a form of dwarfism called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia, which causes severe stunting and underweight.

While these individuals may seem like they’re on the brink of death, they’re actually quite healthy. In fact, a number of medical experts have confirmed that Amge, Fernando, Dutta, and Khatri are all well-nourished and in good health. The fact that these people exist is truly remarkable. Not only do they defy the laws of gravity, but they also serve as a reminder of just how resilient the human body can be. We should all take a moment to appreciate the extraordinary accomplishments of these world’s thinnest people.
