The 12-year-old, Amrit, from New Delhi, was born with an autoimmune disorder which affects his skin. Over the years, his condition has worsened and he now has severe skin lesions and infections that cause him tremendous pain. Amrit’s family is in desperate need of financial aid to help pay for medical bills and other associated expenses. Amrit’s father is a daily wage labourer and his mother is a housewife. Together, they are struggling to make ends meet. Amrit’s father has taken a loan from several people to cover the cost of Amrit’s medical treatments, but they are unable to keep up with the payments.
Amrit’s doctors have recommended surgery as the best treatment option for his condition, but the family simply does not have the money to pay for it.
