Lions are known for their strength and courage, but they can also be playful. Recently, a pride of lions in Africa’s Masai Mara National Reserve showed off their sense of fun with a game of “Whack-a-Mole” with some geese. The game started when a group of geese, perched on a rock, drew the attention of a group of lion cubs. The cubs began to stalk the birds, and then quickly pounced on them, launching into a game of Whack-a-Mole.
The cubs took turns swatting the birds with their paws, sending them scattering in all directions. The geese would then regroup and the cubs would start again, with each cub taking a turn to swat the birds. The cubs seemed to be having a great time, and the geese seemed to be enjoying the game too. The cubs were careful not to hurt the birds, and the geese seemed to be enjoying the excitement of the game. The cubs eventually tired of the game and moved on, leaving the geese to their own devices. It was an entertaining game of Whack-a-Mole, and it was a great reminder of the playful side of lions.
