The Shoebill Stork, a dinosaur-like bird with a death stare that will haunt you in your dreams, is this magnificent looking bird.
The shoebill is a strange-looking bird that may grow up to 1.5 meters tall and has a wingspan of almost two meters, Swampy areas of Zambia, Sudan, eastern Zaire, Rwanda, Uganda, and western Tanzania are its only known habitats.
According to 2012 statistics from conservation organization Birdlife International, the global population of shoebills is estimated to be between 3,300 and 5,300.
However, because the birds hatch in swamps and are difficult to reach, they are uncommon research subjects.
The Shoebill isn’t a vegan. Snakes, lungfish, catfish, and even small crocodiles are all prey for this ferocious carnivore.
Shoebill’s beak has a curved hook at the tip that works as a spear that attacks constantly.
