He’s still a human being no matter how he looks

It’s not easy to be the parent of a child who is different from the rest. My son has been called an ‘alien’ by bullies since he was in elementary school. He’s tall and thin, and has a unique fashion sense that makes him stand out. He’s also an excellent student, but he’s often picked on and teased for being different.

I’m sure this is a problem many parents can relate to. Bullying can have a lasting effect on a child, and it’s important to take action. The first step is to talk to your child and let them know that it’s okay to be different. Remind them that they are special and unique, and that they shouldn’t let anyone bring them down.

Next, it’s important to address the issue with the school. Many schools have anti-bullying policies in place, so it’s important to make sure these policies are being enforced. Talk to your child’s teacher, principal, or counselor to make sure the issue is being dealt with.

Finally, talk to your child about how to handle bullies. Teach them to stand up for themselves and not let the bullies get away with their behavior. Remind them that they have a right to feel safe and respected in their school.

My son is now a high schooler, and he hasn’t been called an alien for a while. I’m proud of him for standing up for himself, and I’m grateful for the support he’s received from his teachers and administrators. Bullying is a serious problem, and I hope that by addressing it head-on, we can make sure that no other child has to face the same kind of hurtful comments.
