Good video with some excellent pictures. Of course judging the most beautiful snakes is always subjective. My personal favorites are members of the milk snake family, and the king snake family.
I guess the favorite that I have seen in the wild, and have had as a pet, is the California king snake. I have removed dozens of California king snakes from the highways and turned them loose on friends farms, to control mice, gophers, and rattlesnakes. Captive bread California kings are common in the pet trade, and make excellent pet snakes.
Snakes are among the most misunderstood, underrated of the animal kingdom. Among the non-venomous species, most are quite docile. They’re also some of our best allies against the proliferation of rodents.
