Tiny newborn lion cubs, Serengeti
When we were on a family safari in the northern Serengeti, we were extraordinarily fortunate to come across a female lion with two tiny, recently born lion pups. You can still see the birth stains beneath the mother’s tail when the babies were just a few days old and had barely opened eyes. It is really uncommon to witness lion cubs this small, so having such a fantastic view made it all the more wonderful. We were quite appreciative of the lovely, calm lioness for letting us trespass on her time with her family. We had a wonderful day that day!
