Tanager, Swallow Tanager, Tersina viridis,Thraupidae

A bird species known as the swallow tanager (Tersina viridis) has a broad, flat bill and measures 14.5 to 15 cm in length. The male is opalescent blue, with a black face and throat, and is sexually dimorphic (the sexes of the same species display distinct traits). His lower belly is white, and the black bars on his opalescent blue flanks are visible.
