She Gave Birth At 14, The Youngest Mother In The World

When Ruma Banerjee of India gave birth at the tender age of 14, she became the youngest mother in the world. Ruma was born in a rural village in the Indian state of West Bengal. Her parents, who were struggling to make ends meet, were unable to afford her much schooling. As a result, Ruma was illiterate when she became pregnant at the age of 13. Ruma’s pregnancy was not only a shock to her family but also to the community. This was because she was so young and not married. As a result, she was subjected to ostracism and discrimination. Her parents, feeling ashamed and embarrassed, sent her away to live with her aunt.

Ruma’s pregnancy was difficult and she was in labour for more than 24 hours. Eventually, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl. While the baby was well-cared for, Ruma was not as fortunate. She was forced to live with her aunt for the next two years and was not allowed to return home. In spite of her circumstances, Ruma was determined to make a better life for herself and her daughter. She managed to get a job as a housemaid and saved enough money to enroll in a government-sponsored literacy program.

Two years after giving birth, Ruma was finally able to return home. She was welcomed back by her parents who had come to accept her situation. Today, Ruma is a proud mother of two and has completed her high school education. She is an inspiration to young mothers all over the world and a reminder that anything is possible no matter the age or circumstance. Her story is proof that it is never too late to make a fresh start.
