Snakes are dangerous, but what about the snake with the smiley face on its back?

When we come across a cobra in the wild, we usually don’t think of the grin and instead want to flee. If they come across a snake with a smiling face on its back, however, they will not flee but rather turn around to photograph this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Instead of fleeing when photographer Souvik Basu came face to face with a snake, he stayed and took photographs. The explanation for this is simple: this is a one-of-a-kind cobra with a smiling face on its back.

According to Souvik Basu, he came saw this cobra outside of Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India. In order to catch the snake’s back, he needed to stay a safe distance from it. Photographer Souvik Basu, on the other hand, was very careful to stay a safe distance from this magnificent cobra. “The Inidan cobra is one of the world’s most venomous snakes, but you should be OK as long as you stay a safe distance from them,” said photographer Basu.
