With his multi-faceted ruby-red cap and glistening gold throat, a little bird is made identifiable!

The ruby-topaz hummingbird (Chrysolampis mosquitus), sometimes known as the ruby topaz, is a species of hummingbird that changes color depending on the lighting conditions. The male may appear more of a dull brown color when in the shade of trees, but beneath the sun, everything changes as he transforms into a sparkling diamond. His chest and throat are either iridescent emerald green or golden yellow. His head has a ruby-red forehead, yet his crown and neck are occasionally orange. He has a brown body, gray wings, and a beautiful chestnut tail with a black tip. The eyes are brown, the legs and feet are black, and the small bill is also black.
