Since the Spotted Pardalote is a small bird that typically lives high in a eucalyptus canopy, its distinctive call is more frequently used to identify it. The male has small, conspicuous white dots all over his black wings, tail, and head. Males have a crimson rump, a yellow throat, and light eyebrows. Although their patterns are less pronounced, females are similar.
