Baby sandhill crane hatches in Florida

A Florida wildlife photographer captured a joyful moment as a baby sandhill crane emerged from its egg and joined its family.

Ursula Dubrick took the footage on February 20 in Melbourne. In her 6-minute film “Miracle of Birth,” the baby crane can be seen waving its tiny wing out of the egg. A short while later, the baby totally hatches, fumbling around cutely and meets its mother and sibling for the first time.

Dubrick has a YouTube page where she publishes film and claims to have been a wildlife photographer for more than ten years. She offers some recommendations for locals who want to find out more about Florida’s wildlife.

Respect wildlife, particularly if you’re close to a nesting area. To prevent endangering wildlife or their habitat, keep your distance.
